[30 Minutes]

Make these colorful Hanukkah holiday cookies to enjoy with the whole family.

You'll need:

What to do:

  1. Invite your child to help you prepare the dough according to the package directions.
  2. Show him how to roll out the dough.
  3. Encourage him to use cookie cutters to create candle shaped cookies.
  4. Bake the cookies according to directions on the package.
  5. Separate the white frosting into two bowls.
  6. Invite your child to add one or two drops of yellow food coloring to one bowl and one or two drops of blue to another bowl.
  7. Together, frost the base of the candles blue and the flames yellow.
  8. Enjoy your Hanukkah treat.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • Which color did we use for the base of the candle?
  • Which color did we use for the candle flames?
  • How does the yellow frosting taste? Does the blue frosting taste the same or different?
