French Toast Snowman

[30 Minutes]

What a treat on a winter's day! This snowman will melt your child's heart.


You'll need:

• snowman or round cookie cutters (or a plastic knife) • thick, white bread • 2 eggs • shallow bowl • 1/2 cup milk • 1 Tbsp. sugar • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon • shortening or margarine • salt • griddle or frying pan • maple syrup • powdered sugar • measuring cup • measuring spoons

What to do:

  1. Using cookie cutters or a plastic knife, invite your child to make a snowman from each slice of thick white bread.
  2. Help him crack 2 eggs into a bowl and beat until foamy.
  3. Invite him to add 1/2 cup milk, 1 Tbsp. sugar, 1/4 tsp. cinnamon, a dash of salt and mix all ingredients well.
  4. Heat a griddle or frying pan to medium-high heat.
  5. Grease the pan with shortening or margarine.
  6. Invite him to dip the bread shapes into the egg mixture, coating each side.
  7. Adult places the bread on the griddle and cook on each side until lightly browned.
  8. Serve these yummy snowmen on a plate with maple syrup or powdered sugar "snow."
