Peanut Butter Snowballs

Peanut Butter Snowballs

[30 Minutes]

The only place to throw these snowballs is into your mouth. Have fun with your child as you make these yummy treats!

You'll need:

• 1 cup peanut butter • 1/2 cup dry powdered milk • a few tablespoons of honey • shredded coconut • raisins • measuring cup and spoons

What to do:

  1. Help your child combine peanut butter with dry milk powder. Help her add the honey to moisten the mixture.
  2. Chill for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
  3. Show your child how to roll the mixture into small balls; then roll the balls in shredded coconut.

How to use:

  1. Your child can make a snowman treat; stack three snowballs together, fasten with a toothpick. Add raisin eyes.
  2. When sticky fingers have been washed, teach your child this fingerplay:
I built a little snowman three balls high
(Stack fists on top of each other to show snowman building.)
One ball was small, one was middle-sized, and one was as big as can be!
(Use fingers to form three circles, each one larger than the one before).
  3. ALLERGY ALERT: This recipe contains ingredients made from peanuts.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • How many snowballs did you make? Let's count them together.
  • Did you like rolling the dough?
  • How do the "snowballs" taste?
