Fall Color Match Walk

Fall Color Match Walk

[20 Minutes]

There is nothing like a walk in the crisp, cool fall air to reawaken your senses to the sights, smells, sounds, and feel of the season.

You'll need:

• leaves of different colors

What to do:

  1. Invite your child to go on a walk and look for things that are the same as the color of fall leaves.
  2. Give her one leaf at a time and challenge her to try to find another object outside with the same color as the leaf.
  3. After she finds several objects of one color, give her a new leaf in a different color and repeat the activity.
  4. Back at home, let her find objects inside that are the same colors as fall leaves.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • What colors were the leaves?
  • Which leaf was your favorite?
  • Which was the easiest color to find? Which was the hardest?

Useful information:

While you are having fun together, this activity helps your child develop matching skills and an understanding of same and different.
