My Grandparent's Day Card
[25 Minutes]
"A picture is worth a thousand words!" Your child can create a memorable card for Grandparent's Day. National Grandparent's Day is celebrated on the first Sunday in September following Labor Day.
You'll need:
construction paper
crayons or markers
What to do:
- Fold a sheet of construction paper in half. Invite your child to draw a picture of her grandparents on the front cover with crayons or markers.
- Write this poem inside the card. Encourage your child to sign her name in her own way.
Grandma, Grandpa, (or whatever she calls them) I love you. Shown in this card from me to you. Sending you a kiss and a giant hug too. Hope to make this day special for you!
Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.
- What special things do you like to do with Grandma? Grandpa?
- How can you show grandma/grandpa you love them today?
Useful information:
While you are having fun together, this activity helps your child develop small muscle skills, language skills and an introduction to holidays and celebrations.
