Thanksgiving Tongue Twisters

Do you get tongue tied easily? How about trying these Thanksgiving tongue twisters about turkeys, Pilgrims, and food. Can you say them ten times fast? Playing this game will help improve speaking skills.

What to do:

If possible, print out these directions. Read them through before you begin.

How to play:

1. See if you can say these Thanksgiving tongue twisters at least 10 times. Say them really fast.

   Betsy baked a big batch of buttermilk biscuits.
   Can six sick swans slurp soup slowly?
   Lots of leaping lizards licked luscious lemon lollipops.
   Two two-toned turkeys trotted down the trail.
   Fred flipped five fingerlicking flapjacks.
   Chris chopped cheese chunks cheerfully.
   Pilgrim Pete picked a peck of pickled peppers; a peck of pickled peppers, Pilgrim Pete picked. If Pilgrim Pete picked a peck of pickled peppers, where¹s the peck of pickled peppers Pilgrim Pete picked?

2. See if you can make up some of your own tongue twisters. Challenge another player to say them with you. How many did you successfully repeat?

Useful information:

We played this game after out Thanksgiving meal. We tried to make up our own tongue twisters. Each of us chose a letter of the alphabet begin with and the twister had to be about someone at the table. It got pretty funny. (Shawna, age 13)
