Henry and Mudge and the Wild Wind
by Cynthia Rylant
Simon & Schuster Children's
Storms make Henry and his big dog Mudge very jumpy. When it starts to thunder, Mudge goes to hide. As for Henry, he whistles "Happy Birthday" over and over. Then Henry's father comes up with an exciting game to play and soon Henry and Mudge have forgotten all about the storm. A delightful story about a common childhood fear.
