St. Patrick's Day Bingo

Today St. Patrick's Day is celebrated by the Irish as well as many other Americans with the wearing of green, songs, dances, parties, games, and parades. You and your child can create a St. Patrick's bingo game to play in honor of St. Patrick. Playing this game helps improve concentration and thinking skills.
You'll need:
cardboard cut into "bingo" boards index cards markers, crayons or colored pencils pennies
What to do:
- If possible, print out these directions. Read them through with your child before you begin.
- With your child, gather everything you'll need.
- Help your child divide the large bingo cards into nine sections.
- Invite your child to draw one traditional symbol for St. Patrick's Day (shamrocks, gold coins, leprechauns, top hat, rainbow, pot of gold....) on each section.
- Let him draw these same symbols on the index cards.
How to play:
- Give a bingo board to each player.
- Shuffle the index cards.
- Invite your child to choose a card and call out the symbol.
- If you have that symbol on your card, you can place a penny on the picture.
- St. Patrick's Day Bingo happens when you get three in a horizontal row, diagonal row, or vertical row.
- Keep playing until someone yells, "St. Patrick's Day!"
- Shuffle the cards and begin again.
