Fish Kites
[30 minutes]
|
|
Catch a breeze with this easy kite idea. This kite is different from traditional American kites because it is more like a windsock in design.
|
You'll need:
paper 8 1/2 x 11 inches colorful tissue paper tape or stapler markers string or yarn glue crepe paper streamers
What to do:
- Ask your child to roll the paper into a cylinder and to tape the short edges together.
- Let your child decide where the fish head will be and then let him add the eyes with the marker on either side of the cylinder.
- Invite him to staple or tape some string to the top to form a hanging or carrying loop.
- Encourage him to cut out tissue paper shapes to make fish scales and glue them onto the paper cylinder.
- Let him staple or tape on crepe paper streamers to catch the wind.
- You can tie a long string to the loop and let your child run with the fish kite on a windy day.
