Bubble Wrap Stomp Challenge

Bubble Wrap Stomp Challenge

[20 Minutes]

Do you have any bubble wrap around the house? Just stomping on it is fun, but there is a challenge to this game also. Playing this game will help improve your child's thinking skills and concentration.

You'll need:

• sheet of bubble wrap (it can be purchased at shipping stores or recycled from packages you receive) • tape • hard floor

What to do:

  1. If possible, print out these directions. Read them through with your child before you begin.
  2. Take a length of bubble wrap around 4-5 feet long and tape it down on the floor.

How to play:

  1. The best part of this activity is to make loads of popping noise as you walk on the bubble wrap. You and your child can have a blast doing this.
  2. But here's the challenge. Can you walk across the bubble wrap without popping any bubbles? It's harder than it looks--but possible.
  3. Plan a strategy; bare feet, stocking feet, tip-toe--whatever works.
  4. Take turns walking across this fun material.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • What do you think the bubble wrap will feel like on bare feet?
  • How do you think we can walk across the bubble wrap without popping it?
